Eduard Strauss (1835 - 1916) was an Austrian composer who, together with brothers Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss made up the Strauss musical dynasty. Continuing in the family tradition, Eduard Strauss wrote in 1876 a Quadrille based on Georges Bizet's (1838-1875) opera 'Carmen'.
