These Nine Caprices were written when she was 13.
Originally for piano, they lend themselves well to a string quartet. A flowing style using rubato in the tempo
is called for here, creating a charm to the movements. The Nine Caprices are suitable individually, selected as a suite, or all played in their entirety.
They would lend themselves well at a formal occasion.
