Konzertrondo für Violine und Klavier. Composed by Antonin Dvorak. The Complete Works of Antonin Dvorak, Volume IV/1. Czech title: Capriccio (koncertni rondo pro housle a klavir). Classical. Performance score, Part. With Publication language: Czech/German/English/French. 48/8 pages. Duration 12 hours, 22 minutes. Editio Baerenreiter Praha #H05543. Published by Editio Baerenreiter Praha (PA.H05543).
ISBN 9790260106321. 12.2 x 9.25 inches.
This is the first edition of Dvorak's original version of the piece - although it is not the most inventive or elaborate of the composer's works, nevertheless it deserves the occasional performance for its markedly national character and rewarding instrumentality. The piece was probably begun around 1878, but the author reworked it extensively many years later. The nature of the piano part suggests Dvorak planned on creating an orchestral version. The piece was not published until 1929 in a revised version by Gunther Raphael. The publication includes a detailed Preface and Editor's Notes and is part of the first Complete Edition of the Works of Antonin Dvorak.
