This composition for 2 violins ( or violin+ viola) and piano was written in 1992 as a reflection at communion time for a Mass broadcast on RTÉ radio. The plaintive melody, inspired by the Irish folk tradition, is stated initially by the first violin and is then repeated with a contrapuntal part in the second violin (viola). Individual parts are provided for 1st violin, 2nd violin, and viola ( where the viola is used instead of a second violin).
