A number of these songs inspired me to create two works for different instrumental ensembles for students at the Conservatoire de Versailles. Thierry Pécou's interest in ethnomusicology is reflected in this piece. He was inspired by the culture and especially by the traditional healing ceremonies of the Navajo Native Americans which are customarily accompanied by rattles and drums. Pécou composed his miniature version of this ceremonial event for the students of the Conservatoire de Versailles. The piece is also available as a version for flauto traverse and treble recorder.
