In Frankrijk bestaat er sinds eeuwen een rijke traditie wat Kerstliederen betreft. Eén van de onsterfelijke kerstliederen is ongetwijfeld het 'Cantique de Noël', wellicht nog beter bekend als 'Minuit Chrétien', gecomponeerd door de Franse operacomponist Adolphe Adam (1803-1856) en zeer kunstig bewerkt voor harmonieorkest en gemengd koor door Willy Hautvast. In France there has been for many centuries a very old and rich tradition of Christmas carols. One of those immortal carols undoubtedly is the 'Can-tique de Noël', also known as 'Minuit Chrétien', composed by the famous opera composer Adolphe Adam (1803-1856) and skillfully arranged for symphonic band and mixed choir by Willy Hautvast.

L'un de ces chants immortels est, sans aucun doute, le 'Cantique de Noël', mieux connu sous le nom de 'Minuit Chrétien', écrit par le célèbre compositeur d'opéras et de ballets Adolphe Adam (1803-1856). Willy Hautvast a très habilement arrangé ce cantique pour choeur mixte et orchestre d'harmonie.
