Canticle 2 Abraham & Isaac
Our inspiration to work on this piece came from hearing the fine recording made by David Daniels & Ian Bostridge with Julius Drake playing piano. Following the recording with the score reveals more amazing subtlety than you get from just the recording. At our level we can only sing the simpler parts as yet but it is worth every minute of effort. Our initial idea is to sing just the God parts in search of a blend for our voices and this works very well and is probably one of the best pices we have sung for this purpose. The whole work of more than 15 minutes is in my opinion for Advanced singers but there are parts accessible to early intermediate.
