The title, borrowed from the Gascon dialect, refers to heavy, muddy land; it deliberately contrasts with the joyful, swirling, and rhythmic energy of the music. The piece adopts a form inherited from these folk practices, while simultaneously revealing a personal and contemporary style.

Région rurale profondément imprégnée d’une mémoire musicale ancienne, elle garde la trace des fêtes de village où la danse et la musique instrumentale rythmaient la vie collective, comme dans les Landes et le Pays Basque voisins.
Le titre, emprunté au patois gascon, désigne une terre lourde et boueuse ; il s’oppose volontairement à l’élan joyeux, tournoyant et rythmé de la musique. La pièce assume une forme héritée de ces pratiques populaires, tout en laissant transparaître une écriture personnelle et actuelle.
