Robert Levin:Cadenzas to Mozart's Violin Concertos
Those pieces have been influenced by cadenzas for piano concertos written by Mozart himself. It makes them classical in taste in opposite to prevalently played cadenzas which are generally romantic or modern in style. A very interesting offer for those who are seeking genuine classical sound in playing Mozart violin concertos.The review from Maestro Gidon Kremer speaks for itself.When it comes to me, I still will play Franko and Ysaye cadenzas in Mvts. 1 & 2 and cadenzas by Levin in Mvt. 3 of the Violin Concerto in G Major (K 216).
