This Lively dance was written in 1992, by Jim Stewart and performed by folk musicians. Bully's Hornpipe was a featured number in the 2002 production of the Marco Polo Suite-A Folk Opera where a String Quartet joined with folk musicians to perform it. This arrangement grew out Chris' string quartet for that performance and is a great way to add professional winds (Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet ,Bassoon) & talented percussionists to a concert. As such it is intencan be perfomred by Advanced Intermediate strings hosting professional winds. It features variety in articulations and playful interactions provide challenges and "fun" for all of the musicians as they compete with eachother playfully with the occasional deliberatly rude entrance .
