Is it possible to play Death Metal with a string quartet? Well I tried it and arranged the infamous poly-rhythms of Meshuggah for this classic instrumentation. The result reminds me in parts on Bartok and unveils the beauty of parts, which are otherwise buried in the massive sound-wall of the original band.
