Inspired by The Planets by Gustav Holst, this original piece pays homage to the first movement, Mars. Using only six notes in all instruments, the music still has a powerful quality that dares the listener to embrace the bold, majestic melodies and rhythmic ostinato. A unique original that invites further study of a master composer!

not sure I would buy it again
online the piece sounds great...but that is because we are hearing a talented trained band. Having three beginner bands currently trying to learn this, I find that while the notes pose no issue (and the rhythm, once learned, is also easy enough) the maturity of sound, blend and balance needed for this piece to pay homage to the original is actually very high...higher than a typical beginner band in the region I teach in.
