Originally recorded by the Mills Brothers, this song was made famous in the UK by the comedy duo Morecombe and Wise in the 1970s. The song is as sunny as its title would suggest, with a gentle swing in the rhythm and a melodic contour that almost traces the shape of a smile.

The arrangement is primarily homophonic, and is suitable for use in contest under the BHS system. The second pass through the chorus shares the melody around so that everybody gets some candy.

This version in SATB voicing follows the form, gestural narrative, and most of the harmonic choices of my SSAA arrangement of the song, but has been substantially revoiced to suit a mixed barbershop chorus in which the two inner parts were mixed, with a preponderance of women.
