Instead of repeating each verse in a traditional carol manner, the piece follows a theme and variation style form. The first verse introducing the carol; verse 2 as a short fugal section; and verse 3, the final verse in the style of a waltz. This simple arrangement is ideal for the beginner/intermediate performer.
