"Brasil Pandeiro" is a samba-exaltation composed by Assis Valente, where the Bahian author extols samba and the Brazilian people. Along with "Recenseamento", it had been composed especially for Carmen Miranda, who had recently arrived from the United States in 1940. The song acquired great reputation late in life through the re-recording by Anjos do Inferno. Years later, it was popularized and re-recorded by Novos Baianos in 1972 on the album Acabou Chorare, at the suggestion of the group's mentor João Gilberto.
