Here is my version of Brahms' rich and moreish Hungarian Dance No. 17, orchestrated for string orchestra in G minor. I brought it half a tone up from the original F# minor to make full use of the open strings' timbre. This version also took some inspiration from Dvořák's symphony orchestra version (F# minor) and F. Kreisler's arrangement for solo violin with piano accompaniment (F minor).
All my arrangements have been trialled and tested through rehearsals and performances before the final edit for publication. These pieces were arranged for and played by professional ensembles, as part of the Rosiek Nguyen String Institute's termly Performance Course for young soloists. However, there might still be mistakes within the parts that escaped our efforts. Please, kindly report back on any findings that require correction. With many thanks in advance.
