Along with Korea’s representative folk song “Arirang,” “Blue, Blue, Blue Bird” is also a unique melody of Korea and music that contains history, life, and soul, and its simple and beautiful melody is a world heritage that deserves to be spread to the world. The faintly played theme gradually builds up and repeats. Then, the violin and piano alternately play the theme along with the descending perfect fifth tonal changes. The passionate violin and cello cadenza that follows is followed by harmonics and short connecting phrases that give off an oriental feel. The three instruments alternately play the theme and the counter melody in the bass and treble, and the finale presents a musical climax with majestic chords and tense notes, ending with witty and decisive note handling. The original piece was composed for solo violin and string ensemble, but this score has been rearranged for a piano trio. Attached file is just for reference (Played by "Violin and Piano").
