Insightful Piano Textures for Informed Accompaniment
While primarily solo transcriptions, this Omnibook is a goldmine for understanding Bill Evans' harmonic language. The detailed piano texture reveals his sophisticated voicings, which directly informs how one might craft a more supportive accompaniment for a vocalist. It’s not a vocal lead sheet, but by studying these transcriptions, a collaborative pianist gains invaluable insight into the piano's role and potential voice-leading nuances within these jazz standards.
