I wrote Belvidere Park in the summer of 2017. We had recently moved to Belvidere, Illinois, and a nice selling point was the close proximity to the park. That summer, I often took my oldest daughter on morning bike rides through the park, and the piece really took shape on those bike rides. My hope was to paint the beauty and majesty of the park in a work for developing bands.
