This arrangement is based on a short extract from the slow movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, carefully adapted for mixed-ability string orchestras. It is suitable for school ensembles, adult beginner groups, and community orchestras, allowing players of different experience levels to perform together confidently.

All Part B lines for Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass are written using open strings and first finger only, making them accessible to beginner and returning adult players, while the standard parts provide greater musical depth for more experienced musicians.
I have added a violin 3 part which is the same as the viola part, for if you do not have any viola players for the more advanced parts. (not the part B lines)

An optional piano part is included to offer harmonic support and reinforce pitch, which is particularly helpful during rehearsals and for ensembles still developing confidence in tuning and balance.

This arrangement is not a complete version of the movement, but a carefully selected extract focusing on the most recognisable and effective musical material.
