Fun. . . but with problems

The Beethoven Violin Sonatas are truly duos for the violin and piano. So being able to play with the piano part really gives you a much better understanding of the music and phrasing. It's nice to play a well played human (as opposed to midi files) with nuanced interpretation (and the pianist is quite good). But there are problems. First--errors. For example, in the 10th sonata, the pianist track skips one of the repeated measures at the end of the exposition before the second ending. She also skips a measure of rest in the slow movement. There are some count ins that are missing where you have to blindly guess where to come in. Also, there are problematic freedom that the pianist takes with the tempo. There is no good way to read the pianist when she rushes or slows down for (in my opinion) a real good reason. (See 1st movement of 3rd sonata or 2nd movement of 8th sonata). I guess this happens in real life with real pianists--but it would be nice if the tempi were more stable
