From Feist's 2023 album Multitides, "Become The Earth" is as earthy and unsettling as its subject matter. Pitchfork reviewer Ryan Dombal characterises its subject matter as being "about the process of our bodies decomposing in the ground only to rise again as overgrown vines". Something that could be grim is instead glorious in weirdness, inviting listeners (and singers) to stare with Feist into the void and discover, at its heart, a story of return to our earthly origins.
The arrangement is in six parts for womens' voices (SSAAAA). It is designed for a cappella singing with a small section of optional body percussion. Chord symbols are included to facilitate teaching.
