Popular worship song by William & Gloria Gaither The 'classic' Gloria & Bill Gaither song is showcased in this gleaming, artistic arrangement by Jack Schrader. This standard favorite has been given a fresh, dignified treatment and should meet the needs of many choirs during the Easter/Lenten season, as well as many other Sundays throughout the church year. The orchestration consists of a Conductor's Score and parts for: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Trumpets 1, 2, & 3, Horns 1 & 2, Trombone 1, 2, and 3 (or Sub. Tuba for Trombone 3), Percussion, Timpani, Harp, Violins, Violas, Cellos, and Basses.

The song is beautiful and easy - BUT this sheet music is missing the last verse, which gives me pause re ordering more copies for my choir as I'd planned. Easily worked around but a bit of a disappointment. I used this song (transposed a bit) as a baritone solo for my mother's funeral. As it happened, my mother's church (First Baptist, Kingston ON) has this song in full in its hymnal, which simplified my performance. I'll probably order more C 5168's to fill out my choir, unless there's a version of this arrangement with the full lyrics available - but I'm just a wee bit grumpy.

Our church has not had a choir, and we didn't know what kind of talent we had available. This piece was chosen because the basic melody is well known, and there are only 3 parts. About half of our volunteers do not read music. It was a good first experience. The vocal parts were well within range, and the accompaniment can be easily mastered on piano by someone with late intermediate skills.
