A friend of the Schumanns said about a home performance of the Bear's Dance contained therein: 'He played the Bear's Dance with exquisite humour, smiling roguishly while imitating with his hands the clumsy movements of the bear,...'. The editions are based on Vol. III/2/1 (RSA 1023) of the Robert Schumann Complete Edition.
Schumann commenca en 1849 à travailler sur un cycle pour piano à quatre mains, destiné, comme l'Album pour la jeunesse op. 68, aux jeunes pianistes. La "Danse des ours" fait partie de ce cycle. L'édition se base sur le volume III/2/1 (RSA 1023) de l'édition complète des oeuvres de Robert Schumann.
