Be Known to Us (The Road to Emmaus) by Austin C. Lovelace 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Austin C. Lovelace

Be known to us in breaking bread, But do not then depart. Savior, abide with us, and spread Thy table in our heart, our heart. There sup with us in love divine, Thy body and Thy blood, that living bread, that heav'nly wine be our immortal food. -James Montgomery (1771-1854)

The Best of Lovelace

I had the pleasure of meeting Austin Lovelace and when compiling a Lovelace Festival I asked him which was his favorite anthem he ever wrote - it was this one. This is an early piece by him and is a lovely setting of this text - perfect for Communion
