New Life for an Old Patriotic Song
Battle Hymn starts the way you would expect, but by measure 8 it transitions to a swing feel in 5/4 time, which adds an unexpected extra beat in the melody. We need to check out other pieces arranged by Agioritis to see if she has more in odd meters. It's very fun to play for our professional quartet, and we believe a really good high school group could work it up. Fun to play and hear!
