Balia di Sehu
Our community chorus performed this piece as part of a concert of music outside the Western canon. The music is fairly simple and the words are a bit tricky but readily learnable. It is representative of Caribbean music and dance tunes. The words belong to a language called Papiamento, which includes elements of several languages. This arrangement is nicely done and a good introduction to this musical culture. Add percussion and you have an enjoyable and energetic dance number!
