Pinnacle Song of Praise
Richs' songwriting and vocal talent were at a professional peak in this song of Praise to our Father in Heaven. What stood out in his performance was the characteristic raspiness in his voice, but especially that he threw himself completely into it it, leaving no doubt that his God was inspiring him to perform praise. Hearing him live in Kissimmee Florida in early summer 1997 was terrific, only a few months before he was to so suddenly leave this earth. Michael W Smith has done a fine version of this piece also, and even comes close to Richs voice. Contemporary Christian Music is much indebted to a few select artists, and Rich, and the Ragamuffin Band were cetainly groundbreakers. His on-the-road sound team did absolutely incredible work with less-than-desirable venues.
