He was an exceptionally profilic composer (he wrote mostly operas, operettas, musical comedies, cantatas, art songs and choral compositions), and is often called „the Croatian Verdi". Original Zajc's work is written for solo voice and organ, and this arrangement is it's adaptation for four-part male ensemble (TTBB) a cappella.
It's also available in two SATB (keys E and F-major) and SSA a cappella versions.
