This composition takes influence from many different eras in Classical music - we are first introduced to the cantus firmus by a Tenor voice (the melody on which the whole piece is based). This is then used as a Ground Bass from the Organ accompaniment in which the countrapuntal melodic variations are weaved throughout before all coming together at the end for a final flourish in this rich and satisfying choral anthem.
