This arrangement of Gounod's "Ave Maria" presents a new proposal of adaptation to transform the original piece into a easier version for VIOLONCELLO DUET, allowing a contrapuntal dialogue between the instruments.
It is interesting to note that this "Ave Maria" is the result of the musical interaction of two composers who lived in different centuries. The French composer Charles Gounod (1818-1893) wrote this iconic melody as a meditation on Prelude No. 1 in C Major (from Book 1 of "The Well-Tempered Clavier"), composed by J. S. Bach (1685-1750).
