I started these variations way back in 2020 during the COVID shutdown and posted a free version on my website. There is a video of me playing that version with myself on my YouTube Channel. That was back before I know how to make a click track and thought I could just record one part and then play along on the other part. I learned that is harder than it seems and the video wobbles a bit in the triplets. But it was early in the COVID years and was fun to do.
This year I added three more variations and expanded the complexity and interest of the piece. It now has seven variations and runs 5 ½ minutes. There are 17 total pages in this set, including score and parts. I am posting the new full length computer-generated audio here for your enjoyment.
This duet would be a great addition to a holiday concert, or an encore for a New Year’s Eve concert.
