Deze compositie werd geschreven in opdracht van het symfonisch blaasorkest Na Lang Streven te Klaaswaal ter gelegenheid van hun 100-jarig jubileum. Als uitgangspunt diende de Engelse versie van het boek Atlas Der Abgelegenen Inseln van de Duitse schrijfster Judith Schalansky. Hierin wordt een vijftigtal afgelegen eilanden van over de hele wereld beschreven waarbij fantasie en werkelijkheid hand in hand gaan. Componist Harrie Janssen selecteerde een viertal eilanden om aan de hand hiervan een vierdelige compositie te creëren.

This composition was written at the request of the symphonic wind band “Na Lang Streven” from Klaaswaal, to celebrate their 100th anniversary. As a starting point the English translation of the book Atlas of Remote Island was used. This is the story of fifty remote islands around the world where fantasy and reality go hand in hand. Composer Harrie Janssen selected four of the islands to create his four-part composition.

Cette composition était écrite à la commande de l’orchestre à vents symphonique Na Lang Streven de Klaaswaal à l’occasion de leur centenaire. Comme point de départ on a pris la version anglaise du livre Atlas Der Abgelegenen Inseln de l’écrivain allemande Judith Schalansky. Dans ce livre sont décrits une cinquantaine d’îles isolés de partout dans le monde, avec un mélange de fantaisie et réalité. Le compositeur Harrie Janssen a fait une sélection de quatre îles pour créer une composition à quatre mouvements.

Diese Komposition wurde im Auftrag des symphonischen Blasorchesters Na lang Streven (Nach langem Streben) in Klaaswaal zum Anlass ihres 100-jährigen Jubiläums geschrieben. Als Ausgangspunkt diente die englische Version von dem Buch Atlas Abgelegenen Inseln der deutschen Schriftstellerin Judith Schalansky. Hierin werden 50 abgelegene Inseln von der ganzen Welt beschrieben, wobei Phantasie und Wirklichkeit sich überlappen. Komponist Harrie Janssen selektierte 4 Inseln um mittels ihnen eine vierteilige Komposition zu schaffen.
