The inspiration is the song At Last I Am Free, by Chic, released originally in 1978, but this is more of a dystopian-sounding version of it. I love the chorus of this song and how it raises more questions than it answers, and I re-harmonized it with a steady half-note chord progression that sounds like the opposite of freedom.
