Composed by Jay Ungar. Arranged by Lee Smith. This edition: pdf. 20th Century, Celtic, Chamber, Folk, Irish, Traditional. 9 pages. Lee Smith #1414949. Published by Lee Smith (A0.1855343).This arrangement was made after being inspired by the very well-known Ashokan farewell. The melody starts in the cello part as a solo, after which the solo is passed to the first violins with a gentle cello accompaniment. Once the whole melody has been heard, the rest of the ensemble join in, each section getting their chance to play bits of the melody, save the fouth violins. The arrangement was made with young string players in mind, having the first violin as melody, and each subsequent vioiln part be written at a slightly easier level, fourth violin being the easiest (for beginner violinists eager to play in ensembles).
