Description: Easter Sunday is one of the most important days of the year—the day we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Leading up to that special Sunday is what is known as Holy Week. Each day of the last week of the Savior’s life had special meaning, as it was a week of preparation and contemplation for Jesus. He knew He was approaching his greatest suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and his death on the Cross at Calvary. This last week of his life was also a week of teaching his disciples at the Last Supper, and serving them by washing their feet, a sacred ordinance. Unfortunately, it was also the time when Judas Iscariot betrayed Him, causing Jesus’ life to end within hours of this betrayal.
It may be hard for young children to understand everything that happened during Holy Week, so we have tried to make it easier for them to learn some of the events leading up to the Savior’s death by creating narration and songs suited for young ages. Each day is portrayed by two Hebrew children, siblings, Asher (11) and Hannah (7) interacting with each other through conversation and songs in this appealing book. By merely learning the songs, children can have a greater understanding of what Holy Week meant for Jesus. The story text makes it even more relatable for children of all ages.
