Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1531522)."The Arabian Dance" composed by Peter Tchaikowsky from "The Nutcraker op. 71a was performed by Liberace in the fist episode of two-part "Batman" episode ("The Devil's Fingers"). Guest villain 'Liberace' plays the dual role of evil twin brothers, one named Chandrell. In real life, 'Liberace' was the survivor of a pair of twins, the other being stillborn.
These two "Batman" episodes featuring Liberace were also the two highest-rated shows of the series' original run (1966 - 68). Chandell's three molls, Doe, Rae and Mimi, are named are the first three notes of the musical scales, do, re and mi.
By every account, including those of Adam West and Burt Ward, Liberace was one of the most pleasant, cooperative guests the series ever had, playing all-request mini-concerts for cast and crew at the end of each day's taping. The only cavil, a minor one, was that he insisted upon using his own piano: he wouldn't trust anyone else's.
Władziu Valentino Liberace(May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer and actor. He was born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin and enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world!
