Appassionata Air is about hope after a great tragedy. In 2011, I could not play my violin for a year....guilt, anger, embarrassmet, fear....I went to doctors and was diganosed with "Dystonia", an uncontrollable curling of the fingers, like Glenn Gould, Leon Fleisher, Robert Schumann....I wanted desparately to find a cure. There is no cure....or, is there? I began to study with Sophie Till of the Till Solution Approach to violin which rids the performer of tension. The dystonia started to melt. Sophie heard my compositions and commissioned a piece from me, I asked her favorite number, she said "8". I find it intriguing to search for the meaning of numbers in music. I give you "Appassionata Air", with an octatonic scale fused with fabulous blues.
