The Angels of Mons is a story of a legend of a supernatural entity which was reported at the time to have protected the British Army from defeat by the invading forces of the German Empire at the beginning of World War I during the Battle of Mons in Belgium on 23 August 1914.
This work is a tone poem as it uses the orchestra to simulate the battle field.
It features the traditional hymn tune "Teach Me My God and King".
It is suitable for a Remembrance Day concert or a concert for peace of for any reflective military occasion.
It is suitable for professional or advanced level performers.
