Composed by Mauro Guiliani. Arranged by Trevor Wharton. This edition: pdf. Classical, Film/TV, Historic. 10 pages. Bumpmusic Editions #1299646. Published by Bumpmusic Editions (A0.1738335).This study for Guitar by Mauro Guiliani (1781 - 1829) is still popular and has been used in several examination syllabi.
Guiliani was a virtuoso guitarist and cellist based in Vienna where he became acquainted with the classical instrumental style. In 1807, Giuliani began to publish his own compositions. His concert tours took him all over Europe, and he was acclaimed for his virtuosity and musical taste. He achieved significant success and became a musical celebrity, equal to the best of the many instrumentalists and composers who were active in the Austrian capital city at the beginning of the 19th century.
In the 1960's it was used as the theme for BBC TV Children's series 'The Tales of the Riverbank'.
The performance of this arrangment should be light and airy.
