"Ancora ancora ancora" – Mina, 1978. Lyrics by Cristiano Malgioglio, music by Gian Pietro Felisatti. It’s a woman trapped in a toxic love. She thinks it through, knows she should run, but her body says no: she wants him “ancora, ancora, ancora”. Raw addiction. Late-night disco-slow: bass pounding like a restless heart, strings that cut, Mina moving from whispers to scratches. That repeated “ancora” is an obsession that clings to you. Never released as a single, yet it’s legendary. It’s Mina at her most carnal and desperate: she’s not singing about love, she’s singing about withdrawal.
