Solid, Engaging Concert Band Repertoire
As a pro who occasionally subs for band gigs, this Michael Sweeney piece is well-constructed and immediately engaging. The individual parts are indeed simple, as described, making sight-reading a breeze for band members. While chord symbols aren't relevant for this concert band format, the score and parts are clearly laid out, ensuring smooth rehearsals and performances. A solid, effective piece for any performance.

A Unique and Fun Band Experience
I really enjoyed playing Ancient Voices with my community band! Michael Sweeney created something truly unique with its prehistoric aura and cool contemporary devices like singing and pencil tapping. The Level 1.5 difficulty meant it was totally achievable for a weekend player like me, and it was so satisfying to be part of a piece that sounds so much grander than its individual parts. Definitely a fun challenge!
