This short collection of music for Christmas contains 3 ancient "Carols." Beginning with Verbum Caro factum est (and The Word became flesh) in a Gregorian style we move to the very powerful The Coventry Carol with all it’s pathos and eyes to the future. The next carol purists would say that "O come, o come, Emmanuel " is an Advent carol based on the 9 great O antiphons. Yes! But it is also used on Christmas Eve and who is being purist...Finally, the twist in the tail...I’ll leave you to find out what that is! Enjoy.
