America First by Frank H. Losey Concert Band - Sheet Music

By Frank H. Losey

Written in 1915, the background of America First has not been well documented. It is believed that Losey choose this particular title as a result of World War I taking place during the time the march was composed. As the original purpose of a march was for use by the military to keep time during marching and maneuvers, this wonderful march could certainly have served that purpose, as well as evoking a sense of pride and patriotism when performed by bands during the period.
