Valuable for Vocalists with Guitarist Clients
While this is a guitar tablature anthology, it's surprisingly useful for a vocal coach working with singer-guitarists or analyzing original arrangements. The note-for-note guitar transcriptions provide a deep understanding of the instrumental texture accompanying the vocals. It helps illustrate how the guitar lines support or even double the vocal melody in places, informing a singer's interpretation. Not a primary vocal resource, but a strong reference for guitar parts.

Solid Tabs for Rock Gigs
This anthology delivers accurate, note-for-note guitar tab for essential alternative rock tracks. The transcriptions are reliable for learning the original parts, making them solid for gig prep or last-minute requests. Chord symbols are implicitly present through the tab, which is crucial for quick reference. My only minor point is the book format can mean page turns mid-song, so plan ahead if using live. A strong collection for any working guitarist.

Excellent Resource for Developing Guitarists
This Hal Leonard anthology is a fantastic tool for my intermediate guitar students. The note-for-note transcriptions, presented in both standard notation and tab, are incredibly clear and accurately capture the original performances. The engraving quality is top-notch, making it easy for students to follow along and grasp complex rhythms. It's excellent for developing reading skills and tackling iconic alternative rock riffs.
