Schon in der neapolitanischen Opernwelt des 18. Jahrhunderts stand die Tonart g-Moll fur leidenschaftliche Bewegung, fur ausserweltliche Ekstase und das Furiose schlechthin. Das hat sich auch Wolfram Wagner gedacht und ein kurzes, bewegtes Stuck geschrieben, das sein rhythmisch pragnantes Anfangsmotiv in konsequenter Entwicklung durch verschiedene Stationen zu einer motorisch motivierten Schlusssteigerung fuhrt. This lively Allegro is a Molto Vivace with frequent changes of time signature, there is a main theme which occurs five times with contrasting sections interspersed but the driving rhythmic force and energy are constant throughout making the lively, crossrhythms, chordal sections, syncopations and strong dynamics just a part of this moto perpetuo. Technically, the music lies comfortably within the hands and the speed of the time-changes and crossrhythms can soon be mastered leaving advanced students with a great four-minute-long substantial piece to add to their repertoire which would certainly provide excellent encore material although being such brilliant fun, it really deserves a place in every programme.
