Composed by Brian Streckfus. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. This edition: pdf. Instructional, Singer/Songwriter. Theory Worksheet. 24 pages. Brian Streckfus #1370961. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1810852).
All 24 keys written out in an extremely visual way. A unique PDF that has artistic version and print-friendly version. It really helps make scary and abstract concepts such as music theory and sight-reading less intimidating. If I had to pick one PDF of scales to master, this would be it.
Includes: – Picture of a guitar neck with letter names written on it, making the PDF require no prerequisite skills. – The letter names are color coded. Blue = tonic, Yellow = Predominant, Red = Dominant. It essentially represents consonance versus dissonance, or in other words, stability versus uncomfortability. So for example, you can quickly look for the color of roots so that you can quickly resolve. – Sheet music with letter names inside of the note heads. Perfect for a scaffolded approach. – Below the traditional notation, there is guitar tablature, also aiding in a scaffolded approach. – At the bottom of the page is a clef displaying the key signature. I did this so that what the key signature looks like is more imprinted in the mind, aiding in memorizing key signatures. A practical example of this is show a song with 2 sharps (D Major/B minor), then show the scale chart with 2 sharps and then notice the similarities between the song and the scale. Obviously works tremendously well if the song doesn't change key or isn't in a mode.
Purposes: – Improvisation – Visual and intuitive music theory – Composition, especially playing lead guitar – Improving sight-reading since what notes the composer is about to use if made more obvious my studying these.
