Songs with no melodies
I've only just started using this book so this review is based on limited experience-- I never taught ukulele before and needed something to get started with a new first grade student. It's a good level of difficulty and the illustrations and pacing are good. However, the first several songs are just words and chords-- no melody! That's fine for something like Skip to My Lou which we all know, but for others, the student needs to sing something, so I'm inventing melodies on the fly. It seems like the authors envision the student just speaking the lyrics, or ignoring them? Not ideal.
