Calvo in the first years of the 20th century, when he was diagnosed with leprosy and had to leave Bogotá (Colombia), to the city of Agua de Dios(Colombia). He composed mainly for piano solo, so that this transcription for guitar is interesting for the colombian music and for guitarrists. The transcription is registered in the colombian register for copyrights in the; Dirección General de Derechos de Autor Ministerio del Interior/República de Colombia Libro 5 - Tomo 286- Partida 70.
