This works very well, but is only for very advanced players. I suppose less advanced pianists can play the first two pages, but if thats the case, just use the original two piano score, since the pianist plays alone for most of it anyway. This may be what gave Samazeuilh the idea to transcribe the whole movement. The English horn solo incorporated along with the pianists decorative figures is miraculously pulled off here, but has its challenges with voicing, of course. Well worth the effort and an effective concert piece in its own right.

This is a most beautiful adaptation for solo piano, which I am so happy to have. It captures the original very well. The print is very small though!
